Dr. Kwame J.A. Agyemang earned his B.A. degree in political science and M.Ed. degree in Higher Education Administration from The University of Oklahoma. He then obtained his Ph.D. in sport management from Texas A&M University. After a year at Eastern Kentucky University, he is an Assistant Professor of Sport Management at Louisiana State University (LSU).

Appreciative of the education he has received, Dr. Agyemang is an advocate for education in its many forms and is grateful for the opportunity to take the baton from those who educated/schooled him so that he can shape the minds of tomorrow’s leaders. Dr. Agyemang combines his passion for education with his interest in the sport and seeks to provide sport organizations and professional athletes with the best education they need to succeed in their respective environment.

Dr. Agyemang has published and presented a number of papers concerning the aforementioned areas. He has also been invited to deliver guest lectures on these topics.. Furthermore, given his Ghanaian heritage, Dr. Agyemang has also been utilized as a resource person for study abroad groups traveling to Ghana. These lectures typically pertain to the culture, development, and future outlook of Ghana.

Dr. Agyemang has two younger sisters and an older brother. He loves staying physically active through working out or playing an occasional football or soccer game. He also loves spending time with family and friends. During the summer of 2011, Dr. Agyemang wedded his best friend, Michelle Agyemang (nee Dodoo). Already possessing a BBA in management from The University of Oklahoma, Mrs. Agyemang recently graduated from nursing school in May of 2012.

Interesting facts about Dr. Agyemang:
Dr. Agyemang attributes his accomplishments to his faith in God and the manner in which his parents raised him. He also credits his Ph.D. adivisor, Dr. John N. Singer, for his tutelage during his time at Texas A&M. Dr. Agyemang is an Ashanti, an Akan ethnic group of Ghana. His name, Kwame, means he was born on Saturday. His last name, Agyemang, translates to “someone who fights to redeem a state.” His family resides from the Sepe Timpom area of Kumasi, Ghana. He is an avid soccer fan, most notably the Ghana Black Stars! He is also a supporter of Chelsea F.C. of the English Premier League.
